Scope and agreement
These terms apply to consumers purchasing products, repairs or passport photo services from Phone Style. We make them available before the agreement is concluded. Written arrangements about your order or repair apply alongside these terms. Mandatory consumer rights remain applicable.
We state the main characteristics, price and additional costs. For used products, we describe the condition offered and any known relevant defects. The agreement is concluded when you accept our offer, for example by placing an order or accepting a repair proposal. For online agreements, you receive a confirmation you can save. An error in a price or description that is clearly recognisable to you does not automatically bind us.
Prices and payment
Consumer prices are in euros and include applicable VAT. Shipping and other necessary costs are shown before you complete your order or repair instruction. You pay using a payment method available for your order. Any terms of an external payment or credit provider are made available before you use that service.
We charge diagnostic fees, additional parts and extra work only if agreed with you in advance. We ask for your approval before carrying out work beyond the agreed instruction.
Delivery and collection
Standard shipping costs €6.55. Standard shipping is free for orders of €50 or more. Checkout shows the available delivery and collection options and costs. We ship only within the Netherlands. We explain any special delivery arrangements in advance.
We deliver within the agreed period. Where no period has been agreed, consumer purchases are generally subject to a maximum of 30 days. In the event of delay, you may give us a reasonable final deadline where required. After that deadline, or immediately where the law permits, you may terminate the agreement. For a delivery method we offer, the risk of loss or damage remains with us until you or a recipient designated by you receives the product.
Repairs
We agree which device and problem we will examine or repair and which price or pricing arrangement applies. A displayed repair price applies to the selected model and version. If other work proves necessary, we discuss it before incurring additional costs.
Where possible, make a backup beforehand and remove data not needed for the repair. We discuss access to your device only where needed for the work or testing. This advice does not limit our responsibility for errors for which we are liable under the law.
Not every problem can be repaired. If repair proves impossible, only costs agreed in advance and lawfully payable apply. A stated repair time is an estimate unless we agree a binding deadline. We discuss foreseeable relevant consequences of the work, such as effects on water resistance, in advance.
Cooling-off period and services
For a distance agreement, you generally have a statutory cooling-off period of 14 days. For products, this starts on the day after receipt; for services, on the day after the agreement is concluded. The warranty and returns policy explains how to withdraw.
If you want a service agreed at a distance to start during the cooling-off period, we first ask for your express request and explain the consequences. If you withdraw, a proportionate charge for work performed may apply under the statutory conditions. For a fully performed service, the cooling-off right expires only if all statutory conditions have been met, including prior express consent and acknowledgement of the loss of that right. Merely accepting general terms is not sufficient.
An agreement concluded in the shop does not carry a general statutory cooling-off right for a change of mind. A statutory exception may apply to personal passport photo prints made specifically for you; we inform you before purchase if it applies. Rights relating to a defect or incorrect performance remain unaffected.
Warranty and quality
You are entitled to a product that meets what you may reasonably expect under the agreement. Dutch statutory warranty rights do not have a general fixed limit of two years. Statutory rights also apply to used products; reasonable expectations depend on factors including condition, age, price and the agreed terms.
Report a defect as soon as possible and allow us to investigate it. For consumer purchases, a report within two months of discovering the defect is always timely. If your statutory warranty claim is valid, we provide a statutory remedy free of charge, such as repair or replacement. Where the law provides, a price reduction or termination may be available. Additional warranties do not limit these rights.
If you are unhappy with a repair or passport photo service, describe the problem. We assess whether the agreed work and quality were provided and offer the remedy to which you are entitled under the agreement and the law.
Passport photos and RDW
Before photography, tell us which document and country the photo is for. An ordinary printed photo and digital submission to RDW are different services. We agree the service and price in advance. For the RDW photo service, we provide the agreed photo and signature part. The remaining application, eligibility conditions and issue of the document are determined by the competent authorities. We remedy errors in our own work in accordance with your statutory rights.
Complaints and applicable law
Send complaints to info@phonestyle.nl, preferably with your order or repair number and a description. You can also call or visit us. We respond within a reasonable period. If investigation takes longer, we tell you when to expect a substantive response.
We are liable in accordance with the law. Mandatory consumer rights remain applicable. Dutch law applies, while preserving any mandatory protection available under the law of your country of residence. Disputes may be brought before the competent court.
Careful work and parts
Before the repair, we agree the device, fault, type of part and price covered by the instruction. A price applies to the selected model and version. A change to a substantially different category of part requires your approval. A description such as In-Cell or SoftOLED identifies a screen variant and does not automatically mean an original manufacturer part.
We carry out repairs with care. If the selected repair or category of part has foreseeable consequences, such as a manufacturer notification, calibration request or limitation of a function, we discuss these in advance. This explanation does not exclude our responsibility for our own repair error or a failure to provide a function we promised.
Diagnosis and additional costs
Diagnostic fees apply only if the amount or calculation method has been agreed before work starts. A diagnosis reflects the situation at that time; an intermittent fault that does not occur during examination may remain undetected. We ask for prior permission for paid additional work. An unanswered request for permission does not constitute approval.
An arrangement such as no cure, no pay applies only if we expressly offer it for your instruction and explain the conditions in advance. No general no cure, no pay arrangement applies.
Device condition and technical risks
Tell us about previous repairs, impact or moisture damage, a bent frame and other relevant problems. Where necessary, we record the condition when accepting the device. We warn about particular risks in advance where reasonably possible. Existing damage does not exempt us from responsibility for damage caused by our own error.
Moisture can affect several components. Repairing one fault does not mean that all consequences of earlier moisture damage have been resolved. For motherboard work, we discuss which fault is being treated. A later unrelated defect is not automatically covered by an earlier repair; statutory rights remain applicable to defective work or parts.
If there is an unsafe battery or another serious safety risk, we may stop work and discuss safe next steps. We may refuse work that cannot be carried out responsibly or lawfully.
Device access and final checks
We request access to the device only for necessary diagnosis, work or tests. We do not view personal content without a need to do so. If a reset or software recovery may be required, we discuss it in advance. Advice to make a backup does not remove our statutory responsibility for our own errors.
We may test relevant functions before and after the repair. If testing is limited by a missing access code or security protection, we record this. The absence of a complete test does not extinguish statutory rights.
Completion and uncollected devices
We notify you when your device is ready. Where possible, check relevant functions when collecting it. A defect not discovered immediately may still be reported later in accordance with the statutory rules. Payment is due at the agreed time. Any right of retention is exercised only within statutory limits.
Collect your device within the agreed period. If it is not collected, we contact you and provide a reasonable new deadline. Storage fees must have been agreed in advance and must be lawful. Failure to collect does not make us the owner; sale, recycling or another method of disposal is possible only insofar as the law permits and after appropriate notice.
Cancelling or stopping a repair
A non-binding reservation is different from a binding repair instruction. What you order and confirm online determines whether a distance agreement is concluded; we do not automatically classify online repair orders as non-binding appointments.
If you want to stop an instruction, contact us as soon as possible. A statutory right of withdrawal takes precedence. Outside that right, any payment due depends on the type of agreement, the arrangements made, the work performed and the law. Where the statutory rules on contracts for work apply, the agreed price and saved costs may be relevant. We do not automatically charge the full cancellation amount simply because packaging has been opened, and we explain the settlement.
Warranty and in-store exchange policy
For screen repairs, Phone Style provides an additional commercial warranty from completion: In-Cell (LCD) 3 months, OLED and SoftOLED 6 months, and Original 1 year. This warranty covers the work performed, the fitted screen and a related defect. It does not limit consumers’ statutory rights. For other repairs, an additional warranty applies if separately promised; there is no general additional three-month repair warranty. For purchases concluded in our physical shop, you may exchange the product or return it for a credit voucher within 7 days of purchase if you change your mind. The credit voucher has no expiry date. We do not give cash refunds for these voluntary in-store returns. Statutory rights for defects and statutory cooling-off rights for agreements concluded online remain applicable. The warranty and returns policy explains these rights further.
